Lloyd Rees in Europe

Rees' drawings of Europe in his extant sketchbooks from 1953 to 1973 are among the most interesting, numerous and sustained in quality by an Australian artist. They are modest by today's standards but in the accuracy and immediacy of his draughtsmanship are also amongst his most irresistible and important works.
