Paris: Garnier Freres, 1865. 4to. Bound in publisher's dark green cloth with margins in blind to covers. Spine lettered in gilt. Four raised bands to spine with compartments gilt-decorated. All edges gilt. Endpapers pearl moiré pattern. Contents printed on quality paper stock and typeset with broad margins. [vi], 564, [i]pp. Good. Binding sound, remains square and tight. Hinges secure. Covers marked and a touch scuffed with some wearing, particularly to corners. Corners turned. Gilt presents beautifully, bright and bold long spine and edges. Contents good-very good. Original tissue guards and some sporadic pages show foxing, particularly towards front. Contents generally clean and bright, otherwise. A remarkable publication that presents well.
